Hello Rotary Family, No matter how you choose to celebrate this holiday season, I send you warm wishes as we close out the calendar year! I recently watched the documentary, Join or Die , which explores how clubs and organizations are essential to the fabric of our nation. The film discusses why it is important to join a club and how this leads to getting involved in our communities. What struck me about this film was the concept of “we” versus “me.”

Dear Fellow Rotarians, This Thanksgiving, Rotary District 5030 received a remarkable national recognition that shines a spotlight on the incredible work of our District, clubs, and Rotarians. We were honored to be featured in a CBS News Radio Thanksgiving Day special , which aired live on over 200 radio stations across the country , as well as on the CBS News Radio Sirius/XM channel and all major podcast networks. This recognition highlights the leadership and dedication our Rotarians have shown in making Hunger Strike a powerful national fundraising initiative.

Thanks to all who donated! 42 registrations 31 whole blood donors 10 platelet donors 1 double red cell donor In this season of giving, take an hour to give the best gift of all – a lifesaving pint of blood. When you give blood, Bloodworks Northwest will have you wrapped up in an hour or less, cookie in hand, with the warm feeling that you just gave local patients another shot at life.

The Lake Union Rotary Club (LURC) gathered last week at the Center for Wooden Boats (CWB) on Lake Union to pay tribute to two cherished members who recently passed away. Tom Youngs and Tom Lemly, both devoted Lake Union Rotary members and long-time boat owners, were honored in a special ceremony. In their memory, one of the CWB’s El Toro sailboats used for rental and training young people was named “TOM TOM”, a heartfelt tribute to their shared passion for boating and their lasting impact on the club.
