The Growing Impact of Alzheimer’s and Dementia
Alzheimer’s and related dementias are among the most pressing health and social issues of our time. Globally, over 55 million people live with dementia. In the U.S., more than 6 million Americans are currently affected by Alzheimer’s disease—a number expected to double by 2050.
Beyond those diagnosed, this disease deeply affects families, caregivers, and entire communities:
1 in 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer’s or another dementia
Over 18 billion hours of unpaid care are provided each year by more than 11 million caregivers in the U.S.
The annual cost of care for people living with Alzheimer’s exceeds $360 billion
ADRAG’s mission is to help clubs address this crisis with compassion, awareness, and action—empowering Rotarians to become part of the solution in their own communities.
