An Unprecedented Year of Inspiration and Innovation

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

As we embrace the theme of Fellowship this month, it is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the recent Rotary International Convention that our District Governor, Kaj Pedersen, and fellow Rotarians attended. The convention was a celebration of the global Rotary family, highlighting the power of fellowship in driving our mission forward. The connections made and ideas exchanged have reinvigorated our commitment to service and innovation.

This month, we are also excited about our upcoming District Celebration on the 24th at the Hyatt Regency, Bellevue. This event promises to be a memorable evening, featuring former Seahawk, Doug Baldwin, Jr., as our special guest. It will be a time to celebrate our achievements, strengthen our bonds, and look ahead to the future with enthusiasm and unity.

Under DG Pedersen’s stewardship, our District has experienced significant change and progress. His engagement with the Public Image Committee has greatly improved the way our District and clubs are presented online, resulting in a visually enhanced website and a more contemporary newsletter format. These advancements have significantly increased viewership and club interaction.

DG Pedersen’s term saw the successful implementation of our Strategic Initiative and Three-Year Plan, “Awaken to the Extraordinary Opportunity of Rotary.” We expanded our brand, increased community engagement, and worked diligently to grow our membership. Our District Conference in Victoria, marking our first in-person conference in four years with a notable turnout, symbolized our resilience and commitment to reconnecting.

We also launched innovative programs like the RISE leadership program and the Philanthropy in a Box initiative, which celebrated local businesses and graduates. These initiatives, along with our new business network and improved web services, have positioned us well for the future.

DG Pedersen’s leadership has not only inspired us but also empowered us to embrace change and innovation. His efforts have laid a strong foundation for continued success, and we are immensely grateful for his dedication and vision.

As we bid farewell to DG Pedersen, we eagerly anticipate the dynamic leadership of Rachel Bouchand. Her vision and commitment promise to build on our achievements and guide us toward new horizons.

Thank you for your dedication and support. Here’s to another year of service, innovation, and fellowship.

Yours in Rotary,
