B J Cummings, author of The River That Made Seattle: A Natural and Human History of the Duwamish, will be speaking at the Rotary Club of Seattle International District, on Thursday, September 5. The luncheon meeting will be at Joyale Seafood Restaurant, 900 Jackson, at 11:30.
Cummings founded the Duwamish River Clean-up Coalition and managed community engagement for the University of Washington’s Superfund Research Program. She was awarded the River Network’s River Hero award for her work leading the community-cased cleanup and restoration of the Duwamish River.
