Here is some very wonderful news! In a very recent letter, Colleen Turner, Development Director at Harvest First Hunger, notified club president Frank Airey that in appreciation for Ballard Rotary Club’s generous and longstanding support to reduce hunger in the community, they are recognizing Ballard Rotary as a member of the newly created Harvest Against Hunger Lifetime Giving Society.
Members of the Lifetime Giving Society have cumulatively contributed at least $10,000. They are individuals and organizations that have played a pivotal role in sustaining the mission of HAH and enabled it to continue innovating as it found new ways to increase access to nutritious produce by people in need. Ballard Rotary has contributed a total of $50,585! Ballard Rotary is passionate about building healthier communities and more equitable food systems, and is proud to be counted as a member of the Lifetime Giving Society!
Harvest Against Hunger will be acknowledging our club’s generosity on its website and impact reports and will give us an occasional shout out on social media.
And did you read the feature article on Harvest Against Hunger in the March edition of Rotary Magazine? It was a fabulous account of its founding and current activities. In that edition there was also a mention of Woodinville Rotary’s bee project in the “People of Action Around the Globe” feature. It is so wonderful to have our state’s Rotary clubs given such recognition!
