There’s a high need for blood right now!
There are many requests for surgery patients in our region. Perhaps they may even be a friend or family member of yours. When my husband went through cancer treatment he needed a blood transfusion. I was so surprised at that time. Now I know how important blood donations are. Please consider a donation when you are able.
Thank you for all you have done to date.
Bloodworks NW has sent this report to our Rotarians of District 5030. February 2024 results (through end of 2/25/24 so far):
- 36 registrations
- 4 donors gave platelets
- 32 donors gave whole blood
- 2 first time donors
The Impact is Real
Three-year-old girls should be looking for leprechauns and pots of gold on St. Patrick’s Day, not receiving a cancer diagnosis. Jane was diagnosed with a rare kidney cancer that had spread to her lymph nodes, lungs, and spine on St. Patrick’s Day in 2017. Less than a week later, she received two blood transfusions.
When friends asked how they could help, the family encouraged people to donate blood and platelets. One third of all blood donations go to patients of all ages fighting cancer. When Jane received a blood transfusion, she called it “super blood.” Today, Jane is now six-years cancer free!
Please make a blood donation appointment today and honor patients like Jane.
Let Bloodworks know you are donating with Rotary District 5030 or provide the code “5030” when you arrive to donate to count toward our cumulative impact! Visit BloodworksNW.org or call 800-398-7888.
