There are many ways you can make a positive impact in the community. One example is the Miyawaki forest project at the Shoreline Historical Museum. This method is an urban reforestation project that transforms a small barren area into a biodiverse ecosystem. Members at the Environment Rotary Club of Puget Sound continue to host service opportunities around this project (see below to contact this club).
Other ways you can get involved:
- Visit the Environmental Rotary Club of Puget Sound, who meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 7pm via Zoom. More information at envrotarypugetsound.org
- Join Judy MacCully’s Ecochallenge Team (Judy is a member of the Environmental Rotary Club of Puget Sound) for the month of April, where you can choose (categories vary from wildlife to health and well-being to empowering the next generation) an action of focus for 30 days. More information at earthmonth.ecochallenge.org/challenges
- Join the service day at the Duwamish River on Saturday, May 3rd. For more information, contact our District Environmental Service Chair, Dave Spicer, at dspicer@davespicerlaw.com
- Recycle!

Whether it’s working on a hands-on service opportunity, reading about Rotary environmental projects, or dropping off used batteries at a local recycling center, you can make a positive impact in our world.
Thank you for being the Magic of Rotary!
