Rotary Youth Exchange in 5030 is energized and focused on a 100% increase in student exchanges

Rotary Youth Exchange in 5030 is energized and focused on a 100% increase in student exchanges  in the 2024-25 Rotary year. At the Youth Exchange Committee meeting on August 26 at Meridian Valley CC in Kent, four new members joined the committee; three Rotarians – Tabitha Claus, Seattle 4; Jesus Lopez-Guisa, Renton Rotary; Zach Griffin,. Sammamish and Shea O’Leary, a future Rotarian and former exchange student .The meeting was enhanced by the attendance of one current year exchange student and one from last year. Cassie Howder from Issaquah Rotary, and the energy behind their Interact club gave valuable insight and social media advice.

The committee will launch a marketing campaign on PeachJar, an information portal used by every school district in 5030 to reach high school students and parents.  Our new Instagram will be linked to   our FaceBook page and website to showcase our students’ exchange experiences with testaments and photos. Students and their respective high schools will not be identified.

Youth Exchange students along with RYLA and Interact students will be verey present at the District Conference’s Plenary Session on Saturday, October 14 and at the breakout session.

It is easy for clubs to be active in Youth Exchange. The Summer program does not require clubs to find host families or lend financial support.  Youth Exchange Committee members will be happy to attend your club’s meeting.
