June is Rotary Fellowships Month, a time to celebrate the unique ways Rotarians connect through shared interests, professions, passions, and purpose.
While many fellowships are centered around hobbies, recreation, or special interests, one fellowship is helping Rotarians reconnect with one of the very foundations upon which Rotary was built: vocational connection.
That fellowship is Rotary Means Business (RMB).
Rotary was founded in 1905 by professionals who believed that trusted relationships, ethical business practices, friendship, and community service could work hand in hand. Long before Rotary became the global humanitarian organization we know today, it was built on the idea that business leaders could support one another while creating positive change in their communities.
Rotary Means Business embraces and strengthens that original vision.
As an official Rotary Fellowship, RMB encourages Rotarians to support the success of fellow Rotarians through referrals, collaboration, professional networking, and relationship-building grounded in Rotary values and the Four-Way Test. Its mission is simple but powerful: Rotarians supporting the success of fellow Rotarians through ethical business relationships and trusted connections.
Today, RMB chapters exist around the world and are helping Rotarians discover new opportunities for engagement, business growth, professional development, and meaningful fellowship. Members connect across industries, cities, states, and countries, creating relationships that often lead not only to business opportunities but also to stronger friendships and greater service impact.
That spirit is now expanding throughout the Pacific Northwest with the launch of Rotary Means Business Northwest (RMBNW).
RMBNW is being developed as a regional fellowship chapter designed to bring together Rotarians, Rotaractors, business professionals, entrepreneurs, and vocational leaders throughout the Northwest. Through networking events, business spotlights, collaborative opportunities, referral relationships, and professional education, RMBNW seeks to create an environment where members can strengthen both their businesses and their ability to serve.
The value extends far beyond networking.
Rotary Means Business creates opportunities to:
- Strengthen vocational service within Rotary
- Support member retention through increased engagement
- Introduce prospective members to Rotary through professional fellowship
- Foster collaboration between clubs and districts
- Expand business opportunities grounded in trust and ethics
- Build relationships that lead to greater community impact
Many RMB chapters around the world have found that when Rotarians become more connected professionally, they become more connected to Rotary itself. Stronger businesses often translate into stronger clubs, increased participation, and greater capacity for service.
For District 5030 and the broader Pacific Northwest, RMBNW represents an exciting opportunity to unite professionals who share a commitment to both success and service. It provides a platform where relationships can flourish, ideas can be exchanged, partnerships can be formed, and Rotary’s vocational roots can once again become a powerful force for membership growth and community impact.
As we celebrate Rotary Fellowships Month, we invite Rotarians throughout the Pacific Northwest to explore what Rotary Means Business Northwest has to offer and become part of a growing movement that honors Rotary’s past while helping shape its future.
