In support of our theme, “Awaken to the Extraordinary Opportunity of Rotary,” we are excited to launch a new pilot program to help our emerging leaders around the district! This supports the vocational aspect of being a Rotarian, where these leadership skills can be applied in Rotary, in our Professions and Personal Lives. This September, we have 18 participants in the RISE (Rotarians Inspired to Succeed and Engage) program who have committed to sharpening their leadership skills. This program was piloted in 2021 by past Rotary International Director, Jerry Hall and Dr. Kent Keith. The program will be conducted from September through November and has three components:
- 5 Virtual Sessions that different topics of Servant-Based Leadership:
- Overview of Service Leadership
- Leadership Key Practices (Self-Awareness, Listening and Changing the Paradigm)
- Developing Colleagues (Coaching, not controlling and unleashing the energy and intelligence of others)
- Conceptualization, Foresight and Stewardship
- Meaning and Motivation
- In person networking at the beginning and end of the program
- Mentorship
The goals of the program are to create an environment where emerging leaders:
- Have access to our most knowledgeable and experienced members across the district.
- Learn with a cohort that can extend their network.
- Gain leadership skills that can help them in their Rotary and Professional lives!
Lastly, please help me congratulate the following Rotarians (listed below) who have been nominated by the clubs and are committed to growing their leadership skills through the RISE program.
