Please join the Lake Union Rotary Club Thursday, September 19, 6-8 p.m. at the Center for Wooden Boats for their “Happy Hour 4 Good”. This event will raise money for the Lake Union Rotary Foundation. The club’s Foundation uses its funds for Lake Union Rotary Club domestic and International grants. It is also used to to partner with and support other Rotary Club’s grants projects.

There will be wine, microbrews, buffet dinner by Pecos Pit, and live Jazz music on the dock from 6 – 8 pm. Jannie & Friends Jazz Band (keyboard, bass, drums, flute/sax, vocal) will provide live music on the dock. All this while raising some money for good causes.
This year the Lake Union Rotary has a current grant providing Clean Drinking Water, Sanitation & Hygiene training for children in public schools in Addis Ababa, the capitol of Ethiopia. Lake Union Rotary has spearheaded efforts in Addis schools for many years providing safe water, hygiene training and sanitation to over 30,000 students and staff . The clubs pilot program has inspired a larger effort in schools throughout Addis Ababa with the NGO Splash and the Ethiopian government.
Lake Union Rotary Foundation supports both international and domestic community projects that center on clean water and sanitation, at-risk youth, homelessness, and job creation.
In the recent past the club has sponsored grants and outreach for Tiny Homes for the un-housed in Seattle, the Gage Academy of Art community youth outreach, and has had other Happy Hours 4 Good for the Washington Innocence project, Community Passageways addressing gun violence in King county, Coyote Central youth art, and the Rotary food bank Harvest against Hunger.
