By Jeffrey Borek, District Governor 2025-26, Rotary District 5030
Every meaningful group has their focus areas and Rotary Clubs are no exception. It’s my job to help our clubs further develop and evolve their priorities as we look to move forward.
We are in the third year of our current District 5030 strategic plan. Here are the top five focus areas to help move forward this Rotary year.
- Grow Club Membership: We need to net 150 new members across the district this year, which means that each of our clubs needs to grow membership by over ten percent. For a club of 30 that translates into not just 4 new members but net new members – so make your target 7 or more!
- Each Club Needs an Action Plan: It’s a simple multi-year Rotary International plan with four pillars – IMPACT, REACH, ENGAGE, and ADAPT. Think of it as a ‘roadmap’ to help your club reach a positive future.
- Build on 5030 Public Image Efforts: Leverage the content and messaging of the District’s PI Committee to amplify your club’s storytelling efforts so that we improve the public’s perception of what Rotary is all about.
- Send Emerging Leaders to RISE Training: The District provides low cost, professional development/leadership training to members nominated by their clubs. Save a spot for your future leaders now!
- Plan to Attend the 5030 District Conference in April 2026: There will be inspiration, education and lots of fun in Walla Walla, WA next spring. Reserve your spot NOW and bring your Rotary Club friends!
I hope you will embrace these focus areas and help your fellow 5030 Rotarians to do the same. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you.
Yours in Rotary Service,
Jeff
