Mosquitoes transmit malaria, a preventable disease that continues to take hundreds of thousands of lives each year. Insecticide-treated bed nets (ITNs) are one of the most effective tools for prevention, creating a barrier against bites and helping reduce transmission across communities.
The Under the Net Challenge invites Rotary Clubs in non-endemic regions to engage with this reality. Sleeping under a mosquito net may not be comfortable or familiar, but taking on that discomfort can deepen our understanding of what families in malaria-affected communities face every night.
The Bellevue Breakfast Rotary Club recently took on the challenge, raising $2,200 toward our Community Impact Grants Program. These grants empower Rotarians in malaria-endemic regions to take direct action in malaria prevention and community health initiatives.
We invite additional District 5030 clubs to join the Under the Net Challenge and support Rotarian-led efforts to end malaria!
Malaria Partners International (MPI) is a Rotarian-led nonprofit with a mission to ignite an international Rotarian campaign to end malaria.
