Rotary Club of Duvall Invites the Community to Celebrate International Day of Peace with “Picnic for Peace”

Free Family-Friendly Event on September 21 at Depot Park in Downtown Duvall

Duvall, WA – August 15, 2025 — The Rotary Club of Duvall is inviting neighbors from across the Snoqualmie Valley to gather for a joyful celebration of community, connection, and peace at its Picnic for Peace, taking place Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at Depot Park in Downtown Duvall.

The event coincides with the United Nations International Day of Peace, a global day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and peoples.

“We wanted to bring our community together in a way that celebrates what we share — kindness, creativity, and a desire to build a better future,” said Mary Humann, President of the Rotary Club of Duvall. “The Picnic for Peace is about connection, fun, and making a positive difference right here at home.”

Event Highlights Include:

  • Music & Entertainment — Performances from local artists throughout the afternoon
  • Family Fun — Face painting, bubble play, games, and an “Art for Peace” craft station
  • Spoken Word – Free Story Telling Workshop with Day of Performance
  • Peace Walk – Self-guided Peace Walk along the Snoqualmie Valley Trail
  • Food for Peace — Bring your own picnic or enjoy Pizza for Peace from local food trucks and slices of Remlinger “Pie for Peace” available for purchase
  • Community Connection — Meet neighbors, learn about peace-centered initiatives, and connect with local organizations

“This is a community event, and it takes the community to make it happen,” said Melissa Barnet, Community Service Chair. “Whether you join us as a sponsor, a volunteer, or simply bring your family for the day, you’re helping to spread peace and joy in the Snoqualmie Valley.”
