Grant Awarded to the Kent Food Bank

The Rotary Club of Kent presented a grant award in the amount of $1500 to the Kent Food Bank. Janiece Choate, Executive Director, was very thankful for the grant. Also, Jenny presented $500 from Around the Clock. Many club members pitched in as well today. This will feed so many community members.
Janiece shared that from October to November there has been a 6% increase in demand. Also, there has been a lot of concern among Food Bank recipients that there would be food available. With the money given today, they can purchase what is needed. They offer two options: Home Delivery, for those who are home-bound, that our club participates in every Monday, and In-Person Shopping for those that can come to the food bank. They are currently serving 600 families a week.
