The partnership between Haya Karima Foundation and Maple Valley Rotary Club continues to make significant strides through the “Tech on the Road” initiative, bringing digital education and technology training directly to underserved communities across Egypt.
Designed as mobile digital learning centers, the initiative’s technology trucks deliver accredited training in digital literacy, financial literacy, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and information security to villages and rural areas where access to traditional training facilities is limited. Rather than expecting citizens to travel long distances, the program brings opportunity directly to their communities.
Since launching operations, the initiative has already reached more than 4,000 beneficiaries through dozens of training cohorts serving students, youth, and community members across multiple governorates.
Strong Progress Across Multiple Governorates
Truck One began operations in El-Saff, Giza Governorate, where it served 1,020 participants through 34 training groups before moving to Tanta, Gharbia Governorate, where an additional 1,440 beneficiaries participated in 48 training groups hosted within a large educational complex.
Truck Two successfully completed its first deployment in Kafr El-Sanabsa, Menoufia Governorate, providing digital skills training to 720 participants before entering scheduled maintenance in preparation for relocation to Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate.
The initiative continues to expand, with Truck One beginning operations in Sharqia Governorate and a third truck preparing to launch in Port Said. In partnership with Egypt’s Fund for Drug Control and Treatment of Addiction, the Port Said deployment represents an innovative new direction by using digital education to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of individuals recovering from addiction.
Measuring Impact Through Accountability
Haya Karima Foundation has established a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation framework that includes attendance tracking, pre- and post-training assessments, weekly and monthly operational reports, and measurable performance indicators. Regular progress reports continue to be shared with Rotary to ensure transparency and provide ongoing insight into the initiative’s impact.
Beyond training delivery, the Foundation manages all operational aspects of the program, including truck operations, technical maintenance, volunteer coordination, government liaison, site management, permitting, and program implementation to ensure the initiative remains sustainable and effective.
Looking Ahead
The coming months will see continued expansion with operations launching in Sharqia, Kafr El-Sheikh, and Port Said, alongside ongoing monitoring and reporting to evaluate program outcomes and identify opportunities for continued growth.
Haya Karima Foundation has also reaffirmed its commitment to regular communication with Maple Valley Rotary Club, including operational updates, performance metrics, beneficiary statistics, and opportunities for Rotary representatives to participate directly in field activities and observe the initiative’s impact firsthand.
