Rotary has always understood that we can accomplish more when we work together. Community Service is about improving the quality of life for the people who live in our community—and Rotary encourages clubs to cooperate with other organizations to achieve those goals.
That spirit is at the heart of Shoreline Rotary’s new Community Partner initiative.
A Community Partner is an organization that shares our commitment to service, inclusion, and positive community impact; works with us in meaningful ways to address community needs; operates with integrity and accountability; and helps create lasting impact in our community.
Our Community Partners are not simply organizations we support. They are organizations with whom we can connect, collaborate, and serve—bringing together different strengths and perspectives to make Shoreline an even better place to live.
Shoreline Rotary is pleased to introduce our first two Community Partners:
Banchero Disability Partners
Banchero Disability Partners is committed to empowering people with disabilities to achieve employment, independence, and full participation in their communities.
Their mission fits beautifully with Rotary’s belief that communities are strongest when everyone has the opportunity to contribute and thrive. Through our partnership, Shoreline Rotary looks forward to helping build a more inclusive community where people of all abilities can find opportunities, independence, and connection.
This partnership is a wonderful example of what can happen when organizations bring their complementary strengths to a shared goal: creating opportunities and strengthening our community.
Shoreline Community Church
Shoreline Community Church is a faith-driven community committed to loving God, loving people, and making a difference in its neighborhoods and beyond.
Our partnership reflects a shared desire to build stronger connections and create hope for a better tomorrow. While Rotary and a faith community have different identities and missions, we can work side by side on appropriate community service efforts where our shared commitment to helping people and strengthening the community brings us together.
For Shoreline Rotary, this partnership is another opportunity to put Service Above Self into action.
Why Community Partners Matter
Rotary cannot—and should not—try to do everything ourselves. The Rotary International Code of Policies encourages clubs to cooperate with existing organizations, avoid duplicating work that is already being done effectively, and encourage other organizations to work together in community service.
That is the idea behind Community Partners: we are stronger together.
As Shoreline Rotary continues to grow its service in our community, we look forward to learning from our partners, supporting their work, finding opportunities to collaborate, and introducing our members and friends to the good work they are doing.
Please join us in welcoming Banchero Disability Partners and Shoreline Community Church as Shoreline Rotary’s inaugural Community Partners. We are excited about what we can accomplish together—and about the possibilities ahead for a stronger, more connected Shoreline.
