RC Federal Way held a great event Saturday, May 23 honoring veterans. We created a veteran cemetery lookalike with 1,240 white stakes. We had Jim Ferrell, Mayor of Federal Way, speak along with local veterans and our club. We particularly singled out two deceased RC Federal Way veterans who are buried at the local Tahoma National Cemetery. We recognized their widows who were in attendance. Pancake breakfast (free to veterans). Attendees were able to write the name of their deceased veteran and with a small American flag could place their name on one of the stakes. Proceeds go to the American Lake Veterans Golf Course, Lakewood, WA. It’s the only golf course in the world specifically designed to serve the disabled, in this case disabled veterans.
