Hunger Strike 2025 Has Begun — And It’s Bigger Than Ever!

The countdown is over — Hunger Strike 2025 is officially underway, and this year it’s bigger, bolder, and more impactful than ever before! What began in Rotary District 5030 has now become a national movement, with Rotary districts across the country joining together to fight hunger in their own communities — all during the same 30-day period.

A National Effort to End Hunger

For the first time, Hunger Strikes are being conducted simultaneously in multiple districts across the U.S., uniting Rotarians, community members, and partner organizations under one powerful cause: ending hunger. Each district is hosting its own local events and fundraising drives while sharing the same energy, goals, and spirit of friendly competition that make Hunger Strike so unique.

Back in the National Spotlight

This year, Hunger Strike and Rotary District 5030 are once again in the national spotlight, as CBS News Radio returns to feature a follow-up story on our clubs and their unwavering passion for ending systemic hunger. The national coverage highlights the power of Rotary leadership, innovation, and collaboration — showing how communities across the country are uniting to create lasting impact.

New This Year — The Hunger Strike Quiz LIVE!

This year’s Hunger Strike Podcast, streaming live on YouTube, introduces an exciting new twist: The Hunger Strike Quiz — a fun, interactive experience where players compete in real time, answering pop-culture and general-knowledge questions to raise additional funds for hunger relief. Participants can have supporters pledge a specific amount for every point they earn, turning their trivia skills into real-world impact.

Three Ways to Raise Funds

There are now more ways than ever to make a difference:

  1. Direct Donations — Share your personal fundraising page and invite friends, family, and community members to contribute directly. Every dollar raised counts toward your club’s total on the live leaderboard.

  2. Live Events on November 3 — Join one of the Hunger Strike competitions (like bowling or the Quiz Show) and have supporters pledge per point you earn. Some clubs are also hosting their own unique contests and events! Teams can sign up to bowl for free (some venues may charge for shoe rental).

  3. Impact Marketplace — Each club now has its own Impact Marketplace, provided by Harvest Against Hunger, where purchases from national brands and local businesses generate donations automatically. It’s an effortless, year-round way to raise funds for both Hunger Strike and your club’s chosen hunger-relief program.

Clubs Have Powerful Tools to Promote Their Participation

Every participating club now has access to a suite of custom promotional tools, including printable flyers, social media graphics, and even a personalized Public Service Announcement video spotlighting their club’s participation in Hunger Strike. Clubs can access these resources by visiting https://hungerstrike.events/resources-5030/ and selecting their club from the dropdown menu to download materials.

Hunger Strike 2025 is more than a fundraiser — it’s a movement.
Together, we’re uniting clubs, communities, and causes to feed families and showcase the power of Rotary in action.

Let the Hunger Strike begin!
