On the 16th November, District 5030 Vocational Team hosted their first thought leadership series “Philanthropy in a Box” talk with Copperwork’s President and Co-Founder – Jason Parker in support of our first RISE graduates! RISE (Rotarians Inspired to Succeed and Engage) is a Mentorship and Leadership Development Program based on the principle of Servant Leadership.
With an attendance of over 30 Rotarians from across 5030, who came to celebrate the success of our first cohort of RISE graduates. They completed a 5-week program, where they were able to learn and develop leadership skills through a combination of training sessions and working with their assigned mentors. This program allows its graduates to take these newly developed skills and apply them to their professional, personal, and Rotary activities. Truly a unique 5030 program that has been established and led by DGE Rachele Bouchand and Lisa Edwards (President of University District Seattle) and one that we will be continuing to grow and develop within the district and beyond.
Before the graduation event we heard from DG Kaj Pedersen and we had the pleasure of hearing from Jason Parker, the founder and President of Copperworks Distillery, who kicked off our first in the Philanthropy in a Box thought leadership program in support of embracing our vocational legacy. Everyone learned how this award-winning distillery secured success as a result of the inspired vision that its leadership team pursued in developing sustainable and beneficial partnerships that support our local community. All the while, the audience were able to enjoy a small buffet coupled with some of the Copperworks spirit!
