Remembering Rotarian Kay Cook: October 25, 1942 – February 8, 2026

Our Rotary family lost one of its most dedicated and beloved members, Kay Cook.

Kay joined the Kent Rotary Club in 1989 and maintained perfect attendance at club meetings for most of her Rotary life—a true testament to her deep commitment to Rotary fellowship and service. She was one of the most active members of the club, serving as Club President and for many years on the Board of Directors.

Kay was a mentor to many in the club and was affectionately known by members as “Mama Kay.” Her warmth, guidance, and unwavering encouragement helped shape generations of Rotarians. In recognition of her extraordinary service, Kay was honored twice as Rotarian of the Year and was a Paul Harris Fellow.

Beyond her club, Kay also served Rotary District 5030 in several capacities, including as District DACdb Trainer Chair, and she was a proud graduate of Rotary Academy.

Outside of Rotary, Kay was a respected local business owner and accounting consultant, known for her integrity and dedication to helping others.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and is survived by their three children: Jim, Robert, and Trina.
