Every year, Rotary District 5030’s Youth Exchange (RYE) program gives high school students the chance to see the world—not as tourists, but as true cultural ambassadors. Through this transformative experience, students live with host families abroad, attend local schools, and gain lifelong friendships while developing independence, leadership, and a global perspective that lasts a lifetime.
“We’re passionate about sharing this incredible opportunity with students,” says Jesús M. López-Guisa, District 5030 STEP Exchange Co-Coordinator. “Youth Exchange changes lives—it opens minds, builds bridges between cultures, and often inspires students to become the next generation of Rotarians.”
Despite its profound impact, the program depends entirely on self-funding and the dedication of volunteers, making awareness critical to its continued success. The RYE team is inviting Rotarians, educators, and families across District 5030 to help spread the word—by sharing the program with students, encouraging clubs to host, or simply posting about it on social media.
